Myth
“Beef is full of cholesterol”

The Truth
Cholesterol is divided into LDL cholesterol (also known as “bad”) and HDL cholesterol (also known by some as “good”). Our body synthesizes cholesterol from the fat we consume which is needed for some vital functions. Several foods of animal and vegetable origin contain both types of cholesterol in different amounts. If you follow a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle and do not have metabolism problems, your triglycerides and bad cholesterol levels will not be high.

Myth
“Beef causes cancer”

The Truth
Recently, polemics arose on beef being one of the causes for cancer. We must point out that WHO (World Health Organization) stated that this information is wrong. The organization’s reports showed that an excess in the consumption of beef “could increase the risk of bowel cancer”. If a balanced diet and a good lifestyle are followed, including animal protein such as beef, the person should be healthy.
